This Golden Week, andu amet Concept Store is currently hosting an experiential event where visitors can enjoy the appeal of leather through all five senses.

The theme is: “Touch it, compare it, and fall in love with it — andu amet Leather Experience Museum.”

This is a special event designed to let you experience andu amet leather a little more closely and a little more freely, beyond the finished form of the bags you usually see.

Lightness, softness, and smoothness — and the beauty that gradually adapts to your hands and gains character with use. The unique charm of Ethiopian sheepskin is best experienced not through words, but by actually touching it yourself.

The store features an “Aging Museum,” displaying brand-new bags alongside bags that have been loved and used for many years. From models that have been carefully used since the brand’s founding to bags that have spent years with their owners, gently running your hand over their surfaces allows you to feel how leather gradually becomes softer over time, adapts to the hand, and develops its own unique texture and character.

Leather is not complete at the moment you begin using it. Day by day, you pick it up, carry it with you, and gradually make it your own. That transformation itself is a special pleasure that can only be experienced by those who continue to use it over time.

We are also holding a “Leather Identification Room,” where you can experience the differences between materials through your fingertips.
Moreover, cow leather, pig leather, vegan leather, and andu amet’s sheepskin — this is a small experience where you compare several materials using touch rather than sight. Which feels the most comfortable? Which feels the lightest? Which feels the smoothest? We invite you to choose based on your own senses. At the end, we will also introduce the characteristics of each material.

Further, we have also prepared a “Leather Polishing Experience Room,” where you can enjoy caring for leather. Using special cream and a cloth, you gently polish the leather in circular motions with your fingertips. More than simply maintenance, it is a moment to slowly engage with the leather itself — a quiet and refreshing experience that brings a sense of calm.

You are welcome to bring your own andu amet bag that you currently use, or you may try the experience using sample items available in the store. We have also prepared leather offcuts created during the production process, allowing you to experience the material before it becomes a finished bag. We hope you will enjoy feeling the unique qualities of sheepskin itself — its softness, lightness, and smooth texture — in the palm of your hand.

The Sheepskin Laboratory also includes a mini craft corner where you can enjoy making bookmarks using Ethiopian parchment made from sheepskin. We hope you enjoy this experience that can only be found here.
