New Collection “Roots to Future”

There is always a reason behind the shape of tools that have been used for generations.
They are easy to hold, fit naturally when placed down, free from unnecessary elements, and timeless enough to never grow tiring in everyday use. Through meeting these conditions, their forms have naturally become more refined over time.

Our new collection, “Roots to Future,” launching on Monday, April 20 at 1:00 PM, was born by reinterpreting the forms of tools that have been passed down for generations in Ethiopia, Africa — the cradle of humankind — into modern bags.

The material used is Ethiopian sheepskin, often regarded as one of the finest leathers in the world. It is incredibly light and thin, yet soft and durable. The leather is also resistant to visible scuffs and small scratches, making it something you can use comfortably and naturally every day.

Built upon forms that have long been loved and inherited, crafted with materials designed to last, and carefully finished by hand over time — we hope you will enjoy not only the products themselves, but also the layers of time and craftsmanship embedded within them.

Jebena

Inspired by the traditional Ethiopian clay coffee pot “Jebena,” this sculptural body bag features a distinctive three-dimensional silhouette.

Wear it over the shoulder like a body bag for busy days on the move or while traveling, or style it with a dress like an accessory for parties and special events.

Tiras

Inspired by the traditional Ethiopian wooden pillow “Tiras,” this tote bag features a refined silhouette reminiscent of handcrafted woodwork, along with a structured form that maintains its shape even when filled with belongings.

The zipper closure opens wide for easy access, making it a reliable companion for both workdays and weekends.

Mercato

A tote bag inspired by “Mercato,” the largest market in Africa.

At first glance, it has a minimalist shape, but once items are placed inside, the contents can be seen through the cutwork details across the entire surface. This playful design is made possible by Ethiopian sheepskin, which has exceptional strength for sheep leather.

Hug Shell

A new model that reinterprets andu amet’s signature bag “Hug Hug,” beloved since the brand’s founding in 2012, into a more modern form.

Its softly rounded silhouette, reminiscent of a seashell, and its fluffy texture add a gentle nuance to any outfit.

Hug Bucket

A new bucket-shaped model born from andu amet’s signature bag “Hug Hug,” beloved since the brand’s founding in 2012.

It can be carried by hand or worn over the shoulder. The wide opening allows for smooth access, making it a reliable bag for everyday use.

The page release and launch will be on Monday, April 20 at 1:00 PM.
We hope you look forward to it.
